With over 40 years of courtroom experience, Demetrio Duarte, Jr. is a seasoned and respected trial attorney known for his tenacity, legal acumen, and unwavering commitment to justice. Licensed in Texas since 1984 and Board Certified in Criminal Law since 1991, Mr. Duarte has tried more than 200 jury trials to verdict in both state and federal courts—a rare distinction that underscores his reputation as a formidable advocate.

A graduate of St. Mary’s University (B.A., magna cum laude, 1980) and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D., 1983), Mr. Duarte began his legal career as a prosecutor with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office, gaining invaluable insight into both sides of the courtroom. His fluency in Spanish has enabled him to serve a broad and diverse clientele across Texas and in states such as Florida, California, and Illinois.

Mr. Duarte’s practice areas include State and Federal Criminal Defense including DWI, White Collar Crime, Fraud, Drug Offenses, Crimes of Violence & Barratry. Mr. Duarte also has an extensive State and Federal civil litigation practice in cases involving wrongful deaths, serious injuries and complex disputes.
